Materials & Care

Materials

55% Organic Cotton / 40% Bamboo Viscose / 5% Elastane

The Sleep Sack is made from Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic cotton that is non-toxic and gentle on irritable skin. All ergoPouch fabrics are dyed with non-toxic water based dyes. The Sleep Sack is reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia (EEA) as a skin-friendly product.

Care

How to wash and dry your Sleep Sack

  • Low tumble dry
  • Moderately hot iron
  • Dry cleanable
  • Do not use bleach based stain removers

When cared for properly, this product will last several years and can be used for more than one baby. Our TOGs don't lose their warmth ratings over time, but a gentle fluff up in the dryer on a low setting helps maintain the fiber's loft, allowing air to circulate more effectively.

For more information see our Washing & Drying Tips.

Who is ergoPouch?

ergoPouch is a brand specialising in Sleeping Sacks, Swaddles, Sleepwear, Sleep Tools and Furniture for newborns through to kids, designed to provide comfort and safety during sleep.

Hi, What is a TOG?

The TOG rating is a measure of thermal insulation that indicates how warm or cool a baby sleep product is. It helps parents choose the right option for their child based on the environment and seasonal temperatures.

A higher TOG rating means the product provides more warmth, making it suitable for colder climates, while a lower TOG rating indicates a lighter and cooler option, better for warmer weather. By understanding the TOG ratings, parents can ensure their child stays comfortable and safe while sleeping.

How do I choose the right size for my child?

ergoPouch products are available in various sizes based on age and weight. Refer to the size guide and what to wear guide on the website for guidance to ensure a proper fit.

Please tell me (a little) about the safety of an ergoPouch?

ergoPouch products are designed with safety and comfort as a top priority. We adhere to strict safety standards to ensure that our sleep products are safe for just that, sleeping.

  • ergoPouch products meet various safety certifications that ensure they are free from harmful chemicals and safe for babies to sleep in.
  • We offer products in different sizes to ensure a proper fit for your child.
  • All ergoPouch products are made from Organic Cotton, which is breathable and gentle on their precious skin, reducing the risk of discomfort or overheating.
  • Our products are thoughtfully designed to incorporate appropriate sizing for freedom of movement and safe fitted necklines to prevent slipping.

Why do you use organic cotton filling in your sleeping sacks?

Sleeping with natural, organic fibers can help your baby get a better night's sleep. Natural fibers disperse moisture from the skin, providing an even warmth and body temperature. ergoPouch swaddles, sleeping sacks, sleep suits and rompers/pajamas are all made from organic cotton, and our 2.5 TOG and 3.5 TOG products are filled with organic cotton. As a result, they are all highly breathable, keeping babies consistently warm without overheating. Synthetic fillings such as polyester do not have the same qualities and can lead to temperature variations throughout the night, and contribute to dangerous overheating. Trapping heat can also be a particular problem for babies with eczema, as this will aggravate the condition.

Your little one's skin is also senstive to chemicals. Newborn skin is particularly porous; we believe the layers closest to their skin should be soft, gentle and free of chemicals. Our non-toxic organic cotton fabrics are chemically tested and certified annually to show they are free from lead, phthalates, and formaldehyde by Hangzhou C&K Testing Technic Co. Ltd, and reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia as skin-friendly.

We also choose organic cotton as its better for the environment as well as your child. Organic cotton farming practices use less artificial elements such as chemicals and pesticides, helps sustain soil health, and uses less chemicals in the manufacturing process. Therefore, organic cotton is more sustainable, safe and environmentally friendly than its regular counterpart.

How do I know when to transition my child from a Swaddle to a Sleeping Sack? (AKA, arms out)

Look for signs that your baby is ready to transition, such as starting to roll over or showing signs of rolling. ergoPouch offers products like the Butterfly Cardi specifically for this transition.

Can ergoPouch products be used in warmer climates?

Absolutely! ergoPouch offers lighter TOG ratings and breathable materials designed for comfort in warmer weather.
