What is a Hip Harness Cocoon Swaddle Sack?

Our range of Hip Harness Swaddles are for babies who wear a brace to treat Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip. The extra-wide pouch is designed to fit over a range of different DDH braces and harnesses, so your child can continue to sleep safely and warmly, without the need for additional blankets in their sleeping environment.

Materials

Outer: 95% Organic Cotton / 5% Elastane
Inner: 95% Bamboo Viscose / 5% Elastane
Filling: 100% Organic Cotton

The Cocoon Swaddle Sack is made from and filled with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic cotton that is non-toxic and gentle on sensitive and/or irritable skin. All ergoPouch fabrics are dyed with non-toxic water based dyes. The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia (EAA) as a skin-friendly product.


Care

  • How to wash and dry your Cocoon Swaddle Sack
  • Gentle cold machine wash
  • Low tumble dry
  • Moderately hot iron
  • Dry cleanable
  • Do not use bleach based stain removers

    When cared for properly, this product will last several years and can be used for more than one baby. Our TOGs don't lose their warmth ratings over time, but a gentle fluff up in the dryer on a low setting helps maintain the fiber's loft, allowing air to circulate more effectively.

Why are there no hip harness cocoon swaddles for 0-3M age range?

Although it can happen, it is our understanding that the diagnosis and treatment for Development Dysplasia of the Hip is not common for babies under 3 months. Due to this, our Hip Harness Cocoons and Sleep Sacks start from 3 months plus. If you have a baby younger than 3 months who fits the size requirements for the 3-6m size, it is OK to use that size.

    This runs small especially around the neck! We tried to return after having for less than a week and were unable to because we had thrown away the packaging and washed it prior to trying it!
